MP15DC Diesel - The MP15 was the last in a line of EMD end-cab switchers that stretched back to the prewar SW1. By the time the MP15 debuted in 1974, the multipurpose road switcher, descended from the Alco RS-series and the EMD GP7, had become the universal locomotive.                   continue reading LO-V Subway Set - Recreate the magic of Christmas in New York City with this old-time subway set. Imagine your passengers taking this train to holiday traditions like the Radio City Rockettes, ice skating in Central Park or gaping at the window displays on 5th Avenue.          continue reading

NYC 4-6-2 Imperial P47 Passenger Set - At the very apex of the Roaring Twenties, just months before 1929 stock market crash, the Central of New Jersey Railroad inaugurated its twice-daily Blue Comet service between Jersey City and Atlantic City.     continue reading Jersey Central 4-6-2 Imperial P47 Passenger Set - Heading the fast, luxurious trains were the CNJ's nearly-new Baldwin-built class G-3 heavy Pacifics. Like most railroads in the 1920s, the CNJ had been forced to buy larger motive power to cope with heavier steel trains and increasing patronage.              continue reading

B&O 4-6-2 Imperial P47 Passenger Set - Aging fleets of 4-4-0s, 4-4-2s, and 4-6-0s had become inadequate as business expanded, and the 4-6-2 Pacific type became the standard fast passenger engine on many railroads.  continue reading B&O 4-6-2 Imperial P47 Passenger Set - Five G-3 Pacifics, later reclassified as P47 locomotives, headed up the Jersey's famed passenger trains. Three locomotives - painted in a beautiful blue livery with nickel trim and numbered 831, 832 and 833 - covered The Blue Comet's fast schedule along the Jersey shoreline.              continue reading

Atlantic Coast Line 4-6-2 Imperial P47 Passenger Set - A fourth G-3, No. 834, was painted green and sped The Bullet between New York City and Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. The fifth locomotive, No. 835, wore gleaming black paint and hauled The Queen of the Valley, a deluxe train from New York City to Harrisburg.             continue reading Erie 4-6-2 Imperial P47 Passenger Set - Each of these extraordinary locomotives sport Imperial Dress with additional detail and the incredible power and performance of Proto-Sound 3.0.              continue reading

2018 HO Scale 40’ USRA 55-Ton Steel Twin Hopper Cars Now In-Stock

Check Out It Out In Action In All-New Video

June 27, 2018 - When America's railroads were nationalized during World War I, the United States Railroad Administration created 12 standard locomotive designs - including the USRA Mikado shown elsewhere in this catalog - and 5 standardized freight cars.

One of the most enduring car designs was the 55-ton all-steel hopper, of which 22,000 cars were delivered by the USRA to 23 railroads.

After the war, the American Railroad Association adopted the design as its standard practice, and near-clones were built by the tens of thousands - the majority of which worked long enough to help win the next World War and contribute to the prosperity that followed.

First debuting in 2009, this M.T.H. model is an accurate recreation of the USRA hopper that was seen throughout the country for decades, in the liveries of five railroads that received original government allotments.
