Monthly RailKing 2020 Volume 1 O Gauge Catalog Product Spotlight

April 29, 2020 - Each month throughout the year, M.T.H. will be spotlighting various items from our RailKing 2020 Volume 1 O Gauge Catalog.  This week's feature will focus on the RailKing ES44 Diesel Locomotive; and select RailKing freight cars including the 40' Double-Door Box Car; Bulkhead Flat Car with Pipe Load; Flat Car with Die-Cast Car Loads; and Offset Steel Caboose. Each of these items is currently slated to begin delivering in June 2020.

ES44 Diesel Locomotive - If you’re a North American Class 1 railroad looking for a freight diesel today, there are only two main choices. EMD, newly independent and no longer a division of General Motors, offers the SD70ACe. 40' Double-Door Box Car - While usually referred to as an insulated boxcar, the prototype for this car, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR), is technically a bunkerless refrigerator car, class RBL. Built by Evans Products Company at Blue Island, Illinois from 1969-1977, these cars were designed for shipments that need protection from temperature extremes but do not require refrigeration.   continue reading Bulkhead Flat with Pipe Load - The U.P. characterizes flat cars as available "in a variety of lengths, tonnage, and capacities for specialized commodities that are not subject to damage from the elements." Attributes are listed as "easier to load and unload freight," "can drive machinery directly on to the car," and nailable wood or steel floors that allow "nail blocking and bracing to the floor for a damage-free, secure shipment."  continue reading

2020 Volume 2 O Gauge Catalog Online Release Delayed

April 29, 2020 - The M.T.H. 2020 Volume 2 Catalog, which was originally slated to publish online last week has been pushed back and will be published online the week of May 3, 2020. Printed copies of the catalog will begin shipping to M.T.H. Authorized Retailers and M.T.H. mailing list subscribers the week of May 24th. Once the catalog publishes, items may be ordered through any M.T.H. Authorized Retailer.

Limited Quantities of the Spring 2020 Special TCA York Car Still Available

The 2020 Spring TCA York Show has been canceled but you can still order the Spring 2020 York Car on a first-come, first-served basis for $40.00 (plus $11.95 for shipping). Current MTHRRC Members can purchase the car for $35.00.
