Uncataloged O Scale Premier Burlington Bi-Level Passenger Cars Announced

March 28, 2024 - M.T.H. Electric Trains has announced an exclusive and uncataloged Premier O Scale Bi-Level Passenger Set in Burlington livery for M.T.H. Authorized Retailer Mr. Muffin's Trains in Atlanta, Indiana. The cars will be packaged in a 2-car and 4-car consist and sold as a complete 6-car set by Mr. Muffins. They will be available in extremely limited quantities beginning in June 2024.

ABOUT THE PREMIER O SCALE BI-LEVEL PASSENGER CARS

The Pullman-Standard bi-level rail passenger car was a double-decker passenger car built by the Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company in the 1950s. They were used by many railroads in the United States and Canada and continue to see action on today's roads.

The bi-level design was intended to increase passenger capacity without increasing the length of the train. This was important for commuter railroads in densely populated areas, where train lengths were often limited by platform lengths.

With a capacity of up to 160 passengers, depending on the configuration, the cars were popular with passengers and railroads alike thanks to the spacious and comfortable interiors and their ability to increase capacity and efficiency on commuter railroads and other short-distance routes. Today, many bi-level cars are still in service, providing a comfortable and convenient ride for passengers.
