June 26, 2019 - Each month throughout the year, M.T.H. will be spotlighting various items from our RailKing 2019 Volume 2 O Gauge Catalog.  This week's feature will focus on the RailKing EMD SD70ACe Diesel. Each of these items is currently slated to begin delivering in August 2019.

LCT License Expiration Spotlight: No. 98 Coal House

June 26, 2019 - The Lionel Corporation Tinplate license expired on May 1, 2019, and each week for the next month or so, we'll spotlight the last items that are still available from select M.T.H. Authorized Retailers. You can learn more about the end of the Lionel license by going HERE.

This week's feature will look at the No. 98 Coal House. The accessory is completely sold out at M.T.H. Electric Trains and is only available from select M.T.H. Authorized Retailers.

The No. 98 Coal House

Our No. 98 Coal House accurately replicates the model produced by Lionel from 1939-1940 as a less expensive alternative to the No. 97 Motorized Coal Elevator. Instead of the No. 97's motorized (and noisy!) chain of buckets that lifted coal into the tower, the No. 98 features a chute for loading coal manually into the concealed coal bin. Like the original No. 98 (and 97 as well), our model features an electrically operated trap door for dumping coal into a waiting hopper or gondola.

Classic operating accessories bring any tinplate layout to life and these easy-to-wire and fun to use accessories are no exception. Just like the originals, each Lionel Corporation Tinplate accessory comes completely assembled and is ready-to-use right out of the box.
