Uncataloged O Scale Premier N&W Bi-Level Passenger Cars Announced

April 1, 2024 - M.T.H. Electric Trains has announced an exclusive and uncataloged Premier O Scale Bi-Level Passenger Set in Norfolk & Western livery for exclusive distribution by the Metropolitan Division of the TCA. The cars will be packaged in two 2-car consists, each car sporting a unique car number, but sold as a 4-car set by METCA. They will be available in extremely limited quantities beginning in June 2024.

ABOUT THE PREMIER O SCALE BI-LEVEL PASSENGER CARS

The Pullman-Standard bi-level rail passenger car was a double-decker passenger car built by the Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company in the 1950s. They were used by many railroads in the United States and Canada and continue to see action on today's roads.

The bi-level design was intended to increase passenger capacity without increasing the length of the train. This was important for commuter railroads in densely populated areas, where train lengths were often limited by platform lengths.

With a capacity of up to 160 passengers, depending on the configuration, the cars were popular with passengers and railroads alike thanks to the spacious and comfortable interiors and their ability to increase capacity and efficiency on commuter railroads and other short-distance routes. Today, many bi-level cars are still in service, providing a comfortable and convenient ride for passengers.
