Monthly RailKing 2019 Ready-to-Run O Gauge Catalog Product Spotlight

July 17, 2019 - Each month throughout the year, M.T.H. will be spotlighting various items from our RailKing 2019 Ready-to-Run O Gauge Train Set and Accessory Catalog. This week's feature will focus on the RailKing Canadian Pacific Dash-8 Christmas Train; GP-20 Ready-to-Run Train Sets in Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific liveries; and select RailKing rolling stock including Flat Cars with Military Loads; Box Cars w/Blinking LEDs; 40' Box Cars; Operating Action Cars; and 3-Piece 20' Container Sets. Each of these items is currently slated to begin delivering in September 2019.



Canadian Pacific Holiday Train Set - Every year since 1999, the Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train has plied CP rails between Montreal and the Pacific coast, helping over a hundred towns and cities celebrate the season by supporting their local food bank. Monthly 2019 HO Scale Catalog Product Spotlight

July 16, 2019 - Each month throughout the year, M.T.H. will be spotlighting various items from our 2019 HO Scale Catalog. This week's feature will focus on the George Bush SD70ACe Funeral Train; Kansas City Southern Veterans SD70ACe Diesel; Southern Pacific Daylight GS-4 Steam Engine; American Freedom GS-4 Steam Engine; and the Union Pacific Big Boy. Each of these items is currently slated to begin delivering in September 2019.



George H. Bush Funeral Train - On October 18, 2005, at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, Texas, the Union Pacific Railroad unveiled locomotive 4141. It was only the sixth time in UP history that a diesel had been decorated in colors other than the road’s signature Armour Yellow paint. continue reading



Kansas City Southern Veteran's Train - The SD70ACe is Electro-Motive Diesel’s hope for the future. While designed to meet the Environmental Protection Agency’s Tier-2 emissions requirements that took effect on January 1, 2005, this replacement for the SD70MAC also has a higher purpose: to recapture the lead in North American locomotive sales that EMD lost to General Electric in 1987. continue reading		Southern Pacific GS-4 Daylight Passenger Set - The Daylights linked Los Angeles and San Francisco "in a glorious daylight trip, streaking along the Pacific Ocean for more than a hundred breathless miles." Travelers were invited to "Step inside the Daylight and see the beauty and luxury that have already won the West. Notice the wide, soft seats in the coaches. They are cushioned with sponge rubber and turn to face the extraordinarily large windows." continue reading



American Freedom GS-4 Steam Locomotive - Class GS-4 engines, delivered in 1941 and 1942, were among the last and best-looking of the breed, with tall 80" drivers and enclosed all-weather cabs. In addition to handling premier passenger trains, the Golden State 4-8-4s were regularly used in high-speed freight service on the San Francisco-Los Angeles Overnight. continue reading		Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 Big Boy Steam Locomotive - Just months before Pearl Harbor, the American Locomotive Company delivered the first Big Boy to the Union Pacific Railroad. The UP’s Department of Research and Mechanical Standards had designed the locomotive for a specific task: to pull a 3600-ton train unassisted over the Wasatch Mountains in Utah. continue reading
